Do you ever get dizzy spells or feel nauseous after talking to someone?
Do you feel demotivated and deflated when you’re in their presence?
Do lights fuse out and Cats yelp in complete terror when they walk into a room?
The above “symptoms” are indications that you are likely in the company of a toxic personality.
If so, then the most effective solution would be to calmly make your way to the nearest fire escape, and start running whilst screaming at the top of your lungs. Or if you prefer the less dramatic approach, you could just run out of the building screaming in terror.
The bottom line is hanging out with toxic people is about as “lethal” as being stuck in a cage full of hungry lions, except with toxic people they eat you from the “inside out” (much like cigarettes and alcohol do) whilst leaving you intact on the outside, at least at the very beginning.
The only exception to this rule is when one (or more) of those “toxic” people end up being your Spouse/Partner or Child. In that case, you may have to stick around in an effort to try and reverse their toxicity by air freshening their brains with heavy doses of goodness and positivity. There is a risk involved in doing this though. If you haven’t thoroughly doused yourself in heavy doses of positivity and goodness yourself the process can easily backfire, leaving you floating around in the abyss of toxicity for all of eternity.
