You wouldn’t ask your Family Doctor (or the local Pharmacist) to operate on your heart even if they gave you a special discount.
Likewise, an Employer or Client wouldn’t hire you based on how broad and diversified your portfolio is. They hire you based on your “genuine specialties” and your areas of “extensive expertise”.
Sure. It’s important to have a reasonable breadth of knowledge in your field, much like a Restaurant Host/Hostess needing to know the Menu like their own pinkies. But knowing the Menu and being able to prepare something edible from it are two different things.
